Arne Slot conceded that it was expected for concerns to be asked about his position following another heavy loss versus PSV Eindhoven.
Liverpool endured their 9th loss in 12 matches, representing the club's worst run after being relegated in 1953-54.
They were taken apart by the Eredivisie champions on a punishing night at Anfield.
“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I've received a lot of backing from management,” Slot commented.
“It would be nice to reverse this trend and secure a win obviously but when you're working as a coach and not doing well then it's typical that doubts arise.”
He added, “I accept my role. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a tough spot but it is about time that we turned it around.”
Upon being questioned to expand on his dialogues with the team officials, the head coach explained:
“We communicate frequently. They are helpful for the squad and to me and we discuss these matters but they aren't calling me all the time each day to say they have faith in me.”
He mentioned, “During our regular discussions I feel the belief. However I haven’t spoken to them since this defeat yet so let’s see.”
The manager expressed regret over known weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League defeat, namely missed opportunities and conceding too easily.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was blunter in his view of the club’s predicament.
“I haven't got the solutions. Truthfully, I do not. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones stated.
“It's simply unacceptable. I don't need to wait to think about it. I’m past getting mad internally. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the words.”
He added, “It’s hard because I play for the side I follow. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen Liverpool all my life.”
“For many years, I've not seen a Reds side enduring a spell of this nature with performances so bad.”
Jones stated, “But we still have the emblem on our shirts. And until it is taken away, we will always fight.”
“Our aim is to bring this squad back to the top, show everyone once more the values of this club and the reason it's called the greatest side in the planet.”
“However currently, we're in trouble and it must improve.”
