Liam Neeson has lent his vocal talents to a new documentary that challenges the efficacy of immunizations and commends ex- government figure RFK Jr.
Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a popular book published by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the global outbreak for assertions that Covid was a result of a bad strain of the influenza shot.
Her writing partner, a producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure a known commentator. The producer wrote online hailing Neeson's role in the documentary.
The team of Neeson have released a response strongly denying suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vax sentiments.
"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with being against vaccines," the statement states. "Neeson is not, and is not, anti-vax. His extensive work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
The statement added that the actor did not shape the project's narrative and that questions about its content should be directed to the creators.
In the film, the narration provided by Neeson makes several controversial claims:
The documentary also references a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a correction by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.
Recently, RFK Jr directed the CDC to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, despite a recent study from the global health body stating no evidence has been found.
Standing in contrast to the documentary's narrative, Neeson has formerly expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Previously, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The documentary finishes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the finish of our story. It is the start of a fresh chapter."
