Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
